New Delhi, 11th Dec: IndiGo Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers met officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday as the airline continued efforts to address the widespread operational disruptions reported earlier this month.

The airline said it has processed refunds for all cancelled flights during the December 3–5 disruption period. Passengers who booked through online travel platforms or third-party agents will also receive refunds, though IndiGo has asked some customers to write to its support team for verification where details are incomplete.

IndiGo acknowledged that several travellers had been stranded for hours at airports due to heavy congestion, and announced ₹10,000 travel vouchers for those “severely impacted”. These vouchers will be valid for IndiGo flights for the next 12 months.

This compensation comes in addition to the government-mandated ₹5,000–₹10,000, applicable when flights are cancelled within 24 hours of departure. The airline reiterated its commitment to restoring confidence, assuring passengers of a “safe, smooth and reliable” travel experience as operations return to normal.

The DGCA meeting comes amid heightened regulatory scrutiny following one of IndiGo’s most significant operational breakdowns of the year.
