New Delhi, 29th Jan. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its 100th mission on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in India’s space journey. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F15), carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite, lifted off at 6:23 AM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The NVS-02 satellite is part of India’s Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), also known as Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC). The system aims to enhance positioning accuracy across the country, benefiting sectors such as transportation, agriculture, and personal navigation.

Congratulating ISRO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the achievement as a testament to the vision and dedication of Indian scientists and engineers. “With the private sector joining hands, India’s space journey will continue to attain new heights,” he said in a post on X.

This mission marks ISRO’s first launch of 2025 and the inaugural mission under the leadership of Dr. V. Narayanan, the new ISRO Chairman. The success of the GSLV-F15/NVS-02 mission further strengthens India’s space capabilities and its contributions to global space research.
