New Delhi, 30th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 128th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, underlined a series of national achievements across sectors ranging from aviation and space to agriculture, culture and youth innovation.
Speaking on Constitution Day events and cultural milestones, he recalled the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, the hoisting of the Dharmadhwaja at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the inauguration of the Panchajanya Memorial in Kurukshetra.
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s rising profile in aviation, noting the inauguration of the world’s largest Leap Engine MRO facility in Hyderabad, alongside the induction of INS Mahe into the Indian Navy. He also referred to the boost given to India’s space ecosystem by Skyroot’s new Infinity Campus.
Modi lauded the country’s agricultural progress, announcing that India has achieved a historic food grain output of 357 million tonnes—an increase of 100 million tonnes over the last decade. He also noted India being named host of the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
Reflecting on youth innovation, the Prime Minister cited a unique ISRO drone challenge that recreated Martian conditions without GPS support. He said the spirit shown by young participants reminded him of India’s journey from the setback of Chandrayaan-2 to the success of Chandrayaan-3.
Modi dedicated a large part of his address to the growth of India’s honey sector. He highlighted Ramban Sulai honey of Jammu & Kashmir, modern honey-processing efforts in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, the work of the Shivganga Kalanjiya group in Tumakuru, and the traditional cliff-honey extraction practices of the Khiamni-Yangan tribe in Nagaland. Honey production, he said, has doubled to 1.5 lakh metric tonnes in 11 years, with exports tripling.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the Mahabharata Experience Centre in Kurukshetra and the global celebration of the Gita, including events in Saudi Arabia and Latvia. He recalled the humanitarian legacy of Jam Saheb Digvijay Singh of Nawanagar, honoured recently in Israel for sheltering Polish Jewish children during World War II.
He said the rise of natural farming is inspiring, with many young professionals adopting the practice. Modi added that the upcoming Kashi Tamil Sangamam, beginning on December 2 at Namo Ghat, will further strengthen cultural bonds under the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’.
