New Delhi, 4th Nov: Senior BJP leader Dr. Vijay Jolly has hailed India’s victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 as a “historic” and “proud moment” for the nation. India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final match held in Mumbai on Sunday, marking the country’s maiden Women’s World Cup title.

Praising the team’s performance, Dr. Jolly said, “India is the reigning Asian Games Champion. Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain Harmanpreet Kaur along with Vice Captain Smriti Mandhana are true team leaders. We salute them.”

Highlighting the milestone, Dr. Jolly said India’s win was particularly special as the team had previously reached the World Cup finals in 2005 and 2017 but narrowly missed the title on both occasions.

“India winning its maiden World Cup 2025 title is historic while our ‘Women in Blue’ are the pride of India worldwide,” Dr. Jolly remarked.

He also pointed out that Pakistan’s women’s team finished last among the eight participating nations in the tournament, contrasting sharply with India’s remarkable performance.

According to official statistics, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team has played 342 ODI matches so far, winning 188, losing 147, tying 2, with 5 ending in no result — underlining a steady rise in global cricket dominance.
