New Delhi, 10th Dec. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that the country’s chairmanship of the G-20 is a matter of pride, citing the contributions of all prime ministers who have led India since its independence.
He stated that every prime minister since independence has contributed to India’s development.
After independence, India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru gave ideas of global welfare such as ‘Panchsheel principle’ and Non-Aligned Movement, he said.
In 1983, India hosted the NAM Conference in New Delhi.
The Chief Minister stated in a statement that the G-20 member countries have a significant share of the world’s economy and population, and that it is an excellent platform for promoting the country’s culture on a global scale.
According to Gehlot, the global summit will leave an indelible imprint of Indian culture on the world and serve as a catalyst to transform the coming decade into “India’s decade.” Gehlot made the remarks while speaking via video conference from his residence to a meeting related to the G-20 Summit, which was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister provided guidelines for documenting all G-20 events, citing the G-20 Sherpa meeting in Udaipur as an example, so that it could be used in future events.
He expressed his appreciation for the Rajasthan government’s hospitality, local cuisine, and traditional Rajasthani ways of welcoming the sherpas during the G-20 Sherpa meeting in Udaipur.
During the event, the sherpas praised Rajasthan’s excellent use of digital transactions.
According to the presentation, Rajasthan has set high standards for organising G-20 meetings, which serve as inspiration for other states.
The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S K Jaishankar, and governors, chief ministers, and lieutenant governors from several states.
