In a monumental effort to accommodate the anticipated surge in summer travel, Indian Railways has embarked on an unprecedented endeavor, operating a staggering 9111 additional train trips during the summer season. This remarkable feat, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and convenience, marks a substantial increase from the 6369 trips offered during the previous summer, showcasing Indian Railways’ unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving needs of travelers.
The meticulously planned deployment of these additional trains strategically connects key destinations across the country, facilitating seamless travel on major railway routes. With all zonal railways across India mobilizing to execute this mammoth operation, passengers from states including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi can expect enhanced connectivity and accessibility.

This monumental effort in planning and executing additional train services is a continuous process, driven by insights gathered from various communication channels round the clock. Inputs from media reports, social media platforms, the Railway Integrated helpline number 139, and waitlist passenger data in the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) are meticulously analyzed to gauge demand on specific routes, informing the augmentation of train services accordingly.
As part of its comprehensive approach to passenger comfort and safety, Indian Railways has instructed zonal railways to ensure the availability of drinking water at railway stations throughout the summer season. Elaborate crowd control measures have been implemented at major railway stations, with senior officers overseeing operations to regulate crowd movement systematically.
Furthermore, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at originating stations to enforce queue systems for entry into General Class coaches, while skilled RPF staff monitor crowded areas via CCTV control rooms, providing real-time assistance to passengers.
With the Government Railway Police (GRP) and RPF staff stationed at foot-over bridges to facilitate smooth crowd regulation and prevent stampede-like situations during peak rush hours, Indian Railways reaffirms its commitment to providing a safe, convenient, and comfortable travel experience for all passengers.
