Abu Dhabi, 23rd March: An Indian national sustained minor injuries after debris from an intercepted missile fell in a residential area of Abu Dhabi, as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully thwarted a fresh aerial attack amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the incident took place in the Al Shawamekh area after air defence systems intercepted a ballistic missile targeting the capital. Authorities confirmed that emergency teams responded promptly and the injured individual received medical attention.

In an official statement, the media office urged residents to rely only on verified sources of information and avoid spreading rumours or unconfirmed reports.

The interception came as part of a broader defensive response by the UAE Ministry of Defence, which confirmed neutralising multiple Iranian aerial threats. These included 25 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and four ballistic missiles in the latest wave of attacks.

Officials said the UAE’s air defence systems remain actively engaged as the conflict intensifies. Since the beginning of the escalation, the country has intercepted a total of 1,773 UAVs, 15 cruise missiles, and 345 ballistic missiles, underscoring the scale of the ongoing threat.

Earlier statements from the defence ministry indicated that military units are continuously responding to incoming missile and drone threats, highlighting heightened alert levels across the country.
