Babina, Uttar Pradesh, 28th – In a major boost to India’s defense innovation, the Indian Army showcased a range of indigenous drone warfare technologies at the Babina Field Firing Ranges. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi observed the live demonstrations of cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS), counter-UAS tools, and loitering munitions.

The event highlighted India’s growing focus on self-reliant defense under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. The showcased systems were designed and developed by Indian companies in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and private partners.

General Dwivedi expressed satisfaction with the performance of the systems. “These indigenous drone technologies are a major leap forward in modern warfare. They will greatly enhance our battlefield awareness and operational efficiency,” he said.

Among the key systems demonstrated were autonomous drones for surveillance, high-speed loitering munitions for precision strikes, and counter-drone solutions capable of neutralizing enemy UAS in real time.

The Army’s focus is on rapid integration of these systems into its combat units. Officials confirmed that many of the tested technologies are already being inducted into frontline formations.

The Army has been steadily increasing investment in drone warfare since the 2020 border tensions. The need for quick-response, unmanned systems has become a strategic priority.

With this latest demonstration, India has sent a clear message about its evolving military capabilities and commitment to indigenous defense production.
