India Will Strike Terror ‘Deep in Pakistan If Needed’: Jaishankar Sends Strong Message

New Delhi/Brussels, 10th June: In one of his strongest public warnings yet, External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has declared that India will not hesitate to strike deep inside Pakistan if it continues to harbour and support terrorists. Speaking to Politico during his official visit to Belgium and France, Dr Jaishankar said unequivocally, “We don’t care where they are. If they are deep in Pakistan, we will go deep into Pakistan.”

The statement underscores India’s assertive national security posture in the face of persistent cross-border terrorism and reflects the government’s strategic readiness to neutralise threats at their origin.

Responding to questions regarding the reported loss of Indian Air Force assets during Operation Sindoor, Dr Jaishankar dismissed the criticism, stating, “As far as I’m concerned, how effective the Rafale was or frankly, how effective other systems were — to me the proof of the pudding are the destroyed and disabled airfields on the Pakistani side.”

Operation Sindoor, which remains classified in detail, reportedly involved pre-emptive strikes on terror launchpads and strategic installations across the Line of Control and beyond. The operation drew global attention for its audacity and precision.

Dr Jaishankar’s remarks signal India’s continued commitment to counterterrorism, even if it means escalating military responses. His comment also comes at a time when diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan remain strained, with little sign of constructive engagement.

The Foreign Minister’s European tour includes high-level talks on trade, defence, and global security, but his statement on Pakistan is likely to reverberate strongly across diplomatic and military circles.
