New Delhi, 15th Sept: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday lauded the Central Reserve Police Force’s elite CoBRA Battalion and the Jharkhand police for a decisive anti-Naxal operation in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, that neutralized three high-profile extremists, including a top commander carrying a ₹1 crore bounty.

In a post on X, Shah confirmed that Sahdev Soren, also known as Parvesh, a Central Committee Member of the CPI (Maoist), was killed during the operation. Two other wanted Naxals—Raghunath Hembram alias Chanchal and Birsen Ganjhu alias Ramkhelawan—were also eliminated.

Shah stated that this successful offensive has “completely eradicated Naxalism from the Bokaro region of northern Jharkhand,” marking a major milestone in India’s long battle against Left Wing Extremism. He expressed confidence that “soon the entire country will be free from the menace of Naxalism,” crediting the coordinated efforts of security forces for the breakthrough.

Security experts described the strike as a significant setback to the CPI (Maoist) network in eastern India, further shrinking their operational zones and morale.
