“India Stands with Myanmar in This Difficult Hour”: PM Modi on Earthquake Tragedy

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Myanmar’s Senior General H.E. Min Aung Hlaing today, expressing deep condolences over the loss of lives caused by the devastating earthquake. Reaffirming India’s commitment as a close neighbor, PM Modi assured full support to Myanmar in this difficult time.

In response to the calamity, the Indian government has launched Operation Brahma, a humanitarian initiative aimed at providing immediate relief to the affected regions. Under this operation, disaster relief material, humanitarian aid, and search & rescue teams are being swiftly dispatched to Myanmar.

PM Modi shared the development on social media platform X, stating, “Spoke with Senior General H.E. Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar. Conveyed our deep condolences at the loss of lives in the devastating earthquake. As a close friend and neighbour, India stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult hour. Disaster relief material, humanitarian assistance, search & rescue teams are being expeditiously dispatched to the affected areas as part of #OperationBrahma.”
