PM speaks with Amir Sheikh Tamim, backs diplomacy for regional peace

New Delhi, 4th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi conveyed that India stands firmly in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemned any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“We stand firmly in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X following the discussion.

Both leaders emphasized the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy amid rising tensions.

Prime Minister Modi also expressed appreciation for the continued support and care extended by the Qatari leadership to the Indian community residing in the country during the current challenging situation.
