United Nations, 16th March. India delivered a scathing response to Pakistan’s envoy at the United Nations General Assembly, describing Islamabad’s comments as akin to a “broken record” stuck in the past while the world moves forward.
This retort came after Pakistan’s Ambassador Munir Akram referenced the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Citizenship Amendment Act during a plenary meeting where a resolution on combating Islamophobia, introduced by Pakistan, was adopted.
India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, criticized Pakistan’s stance, stating, “One final point concerns a delegation (and its remarks) that, much like a broken record, remains sadly stagnant while the world progresses.”
Kamboj emphasized the “unfortunate” and “limited” perspective of Pakistan’s delegation on matters concerning India, especially during discussions requiring global wisdom and outlook.
Kamboj delivered India’s statement during the adoption of the resolution on ‘Measures to combat Islamophobia’ at the UN General Assembly.
