UNITED NATIONS – India on Thursday has slammed Pakistan for its hypocrisy on human rights violations at the 34th Meeting of the 60th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Indian diplomat to Geneva Mohammed Hussain said that it was ironic Islamabad was lecturing others on human rights as he responded to the Pakistani representative’s remark a the UNHRC.
Hussain said India finds it deeply ironic that a country like Pakistan seeks to lecture others on human rights. Instead of spreading propaganda, Pakistan should confront the persecution of minorities on its own soil”.
The Indian statement came days after Pakistan bombed its own civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Some 30 people, including children, were killed after Pakistani jets bombed their own people in a village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.
Pakistani government has not issued any statement regarding the bombing, it sparked a huge protest by the locals in the area.
Pakistani Army killed Advocate Zubair Baloch, a leading human rights activist and former chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Pajjar).
