New Delhi, 22nd Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation in the 131st episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, highlighting India’s technological strides, citizen-led initiatives and cultural resurgence.
Referring to the recently held Global AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, the Prime Minister described it as a defining moment in shaping how the world will harness Artificial Intelligence in the future. He said leaders, innovators and start-up founders from across the globe witnessed India’s AI capabilities and enthusiasm of its youth.
PM Modi shared how AI applications in dairy farming, showcased by Amul, and the digital preservation of ancient manuscripts like the Sushrut Samhita drew global attention. He noted that India launched three indigenous AI models during the summit, calling it one of the largest AI gatherings ever hosted.
Organ Donation and Human Spirit
The Prime Minister paid tribute to 10-month-old Aalin Sherin Abraham from Kerala, whose parents chose to donate her organs after her passing. He described the decision as an act of extraordinary courage and compassion, urging citizens to promote organ donation awareness.
He also cited inspiring stories of transplant recipients undertaking pilgrimages and sporting feats, underscoring how one noble act can transform multiple lives.
Digital Vigilance and KYC Warning
Modi cautioned citizens against rising cases of digital fraud and so-called “digital arrest” scams. He advised people to complete KYC processes only through official banking channels and never share OTPs or personal details with unknown callers.
Quoting a simple mantra — “Correct KYC, timely re-KYC keeps your account safe” — he urged citizens to remain alert and financially literate.
Farmers Blending Tradition and Technology
Highlighting agricultural innovation, the Prime Minister praised young farmers adopting integrated models combining crops, fruits and fish farming. He said India has become the world’s largest rice producer, crossing 150 million tonnes, and is expanding exports of GI-tagged products such as Nanjangud bananas and Mysuru betel leaves.
He described farmers as “true devotees of the earth,” blending tradition with technology to boost quality and income.
Cultural Revival and Rajaji Tribute
The Prime Minister announced that a statue of C. Rajagopalachari would be unveiled at Rashtrapati Bhavan during ‘Rajaji Utsav’, replacing a statue of British architect Edwin Lutyens. He termed it a step toward shedding colonial symbols and honouring Indian icons.
He also spoke about the revival of Kerala’s Mamangam tradition and emphasized India’s civilizational unity from North to South.
Tribute to Jayalalithaa and Message to Students
On the birth anniversary of J. Jayalalithaa, Modi paid homage, recalling her contributions to women’s welfare and governance.
Addressing students preparing for exams, he encouraged them to see themselves as “exam warriors” and not let marks define their worth.
The Prime Minister concluded by extending greetings for Ramzan and Holi, urging citizens to adopt Swadeshi products during festivals and support the call for a self-reliant India.
