Brasilia, 14th Oct: Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav reaffirmed India’s commitment to the Paris Agreement’s framework while addressing the Global Stocktake (GST) breakout session during the Pre-CoP30 meetings in Brasilia on October 13.
The Minister underscored the importance of maintaining a dialogue-based and balanced approach to climate ambition, cautioning against hastily including scientific assessments without thorough global discussion.
He emphasised that the first GST validated global progress under the Paris Agreement, serving as a mechanism to assess progress, identify gaps, and guide enhanced climate action.
Yadav called for a stronger focus on mobilising resources for developing nations, stating that “dialogue is important, but action is imperative.”
