The ministry stated that airlines are making operational adjustments to ensure passenger safety and maintain smooth flight operations between India and the West Asia region amid the ongoing developments affecting regional airspace.
Passenger movement data released by the ministry showed that 51 inbound flights operated by Indian carriers arrived in India on March 7, carrying 8,175 passengers from various destinations in the Gulf region.
For March 8, Indian carriers including Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa Air planned 49 inbound flights from key airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat and Jeddah, depending on operational feasibility and prevailing conditions.
According to the latest update from the Civil Aviation Ministry, 50 flights are planned for March 9 to facilitate the return of passengers travelling between the Gulf region and India.
Officials said Indian carriers are continuously assessing the situation at airports across the region and may operate additional flights if conditions permit.
