New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday participated in the NXT Conclave at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where he launched the NewsX World Channel, a new global media initiative with broadcasts in Hindi, English, and regional languages. Congratulating the network, PM Modi emphasized India’s growing global influence and its potential to lead the world in innovation, manufacturing, and governance.
India: A Global Force in the 21st Century
PM Modi highlighted how the world is closely watching India’s transformation. “The world is keenly watching 21st-century India,” he said, stressing that India’s rapid advancements in infrastructure, technology, and governance are setting global benchmarks. He noted that India is becoming a hub of innovation and manufacturing, stating, “Today, India is emerging as the new factory of the world. We are not just a workforce; we are a world-force!”
He pointed to India’s achievements in sectors such as semiconductors, aircraft carriers, and digital infrastructure, reinforcing the country’s role in the global supply chain. He also cited India’s G20 Presidency, AI Action Summit co-hosting, and international initiatives like the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor as evidence of the country’s rising global stature.
From ‘Vocal for Local’ to ‘Local for Global’
Recalling his call for ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’, PM Modi expressed satisfaction over India’s homegrown products gaining global recognition. He mentioned the export success of AYUSH products, Indian millets, turmeric, and coffee, along with rising demand for Pulwama’s snow peas, Maharashtra’s Purandar figs, and Kashmir’s cricket bats.
He also underscored India’s rise in electronics, automobile manufacturing, and defense production, noting that India has transitioned from an import-dependent nation to an export powerhouse. “India is not only providing products to the world but is also becoming a trusted and reliable partner in the global supply chain,” he remarked.
Governance and Economic Transformation
PM Modi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, highlighting major reforms that have eliminated outdated laws, simplified tax structures, and boosted ease of doing business. He pointed out that income up to ₹12 lakh has been made tax-free, providing relief to the middle class.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s digital revolution, including the success of UPI, which has been adopted by countries like France, UAE, and Singapore. He stressed that India is not just innovating but “Indovating”—creating accessible, affordable, and scalable solutions for the world.
Empowering India’s Youth
Highlighting the National Education Policy (NEP), PM Modi said it has allowed students to move beyond textbooks and embrace fields like AI, coding, and data science. He also spoke about initiatives such as 50,000 new Atal Tinkering Labs and the “One Nation, One Subscription” program, which provides free access to global research journals.
He expressed confidence that India’s youth will lead global innovation and mentioned interactions between international experts like Dr. Brian Greene and astronaut Mike Massimino with Indian students, reinforcing India’s scientific potential.
Vision for a Developed India
PM Modi concluded with a call for a bold global vision, urging Indian brands to make a mark worldwide. “Made in India should become the world’s mantra,” he said, envisioning India as the top choice for healthcare, tourism, and global conferences. He emphasized that India is moving towards becoming a developed nation in the next 25 years, and the media must play a pivotal role in showcasing this transformation.
The event was attended by ITV Media Network Founder and Rajya Sabha MP Karthikeya Sharma, Former Australian PM Tony Abbott, and Former Sri Lankan President and PM Ranil Wickremesinghe, among other dignitaries.
