Manesar, 14th Oct: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah addressed the 41st Foundation Day of the National Security Guard (NSG) in Manesar, Gurugram, and laid the foundation stone for the Special Operations Training Centre (S.O.T.C.) at the NSG campus. The event was attended by senior dignitaries, including the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and the Director General of NSG.

In his address, Shah praised the NSG for its four-decade-long legacy of bravery and strategic operations, emphasizing that the resolute and courageous manner in which personnel have countered terrorism is etched in India’s security history. “With the principles of Sarvatra, Sarvottam, and Suraksha, and the virtues of Samarpan, Saahas, and Rashtrabhakti, the NSG has safeguarded our nation against terrorism,” he said.

The Special Operations Training Centre, being built on eight acres at a cost of Rs. 141 crore, will provide state-of-the-art training to NSG personnel and anti-terror units of state police forces, enhancing preparedness against terrorism across the country. Shah highlighted that terrorism cannot be tackled by the central government alone; coordinated efforts from all state governments, NSG, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are essential.

The Home Minister announced the establishment of a new NSG hub in Ayodhya, complementing existing hubs in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Jammu. These hubs ensure commandos are ready 24/7 for rapid response to terrorist threats.

Shah detailed the government’s zero-tolerance approach under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing key measures since 2019, including amendments to the UAPA and NIA Acts, strengthening PMLA and ED action against terror funding, banning the Popular Front of India (PFI), and establishing MAC, CCTNS, and NATGRID for intelligence sharing. For the first time, three new criminal laws have explicitly defined terrorism, closing previous legal loopholes.

He noted that operations such as surgical strikes, air strikes, Operation Sindoor, and Operation Mahadev have successfully neutralized terrorist threats, proving that terrorists cannot hide anywhere. Over the past four decades, NSG personnel have surveyed more than 770 critical locations, prepared strategic plans, and secured vital institutions, religious sites, and major events like Mahakumbh and Puri Rath Yatra.

Shah also highlighted the contribution of CAPF personnel in planting and nurturing over 6.5 crore saplings, underscoring their role in environmental protection. He expressed confidence that the NSG, equipped with cutting-edge technology and expanded infrastructure, will continue its legacy of courage, dedication, and national security.
