United Nations, 9th April. India criticized the UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan, calling it a positive step. The country stated that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has led to a severe humanitarian crisis that is unacceptable.
Kamboj emphasized that the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council on March 25 was a positive development. She highlighted the significant loss of civilian lives, particularly women and children, as a result of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
India strongly condemned the deaths of civilians in the conflict and stressed the importance of avoiding civilian casualties in any conflict situation. The UNSC resolution demanded an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan, as well as the release of hostages and access to humanitarian aid.
India reiterated its stance against terrorism and called for the immediate release of all hostages. The country also expressed concern about the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and urged increased humanitarian aid to prevent further deterioration.
Kamboj commended the efforts of the UN and the international community in promoting peace in the region. India has provided humanitarian aid to Palestine and reiterated its support for a two-state solution achieved through direct negotiations.
The conflict in Gaza has resulted in a significant number of casualties, with thousands of Palestinians and Israelis losing their lives. The ongoing violence has been a cause of concern for the international community, with calls for a lasting ceasefire and peace negotiations.
The President of the UN General Assembly expressed regret over the Security Council’s inability to address the conflict effectively. He urged the Council to work towards an immediate and lasting ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and destruction in Gaza.
