Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a number of development projects valued at more than Rs 13,000 crore in Varanasi. These projects span various critical sectors, including roadways, railways, aviation, tourism, education, healthcare, drinking water, urban development, and sanitation.

Among the notable highlights of the day was the Prime Minister’s visit to Banas Kashi Sankul, a state-of-the-art milk processing unit established by the Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhiyaon, Varanasi.

During his visit, PM Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the cow welfare initiatives and distributed employment letters and GI-authorized user certificates.

Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be back in Kashi and reminisced about his journey as the city’s parliamentarian over the past decade. He credited the transformative power of Banaras for shaping him into a true Banarasi.

Emphasizing the significance of the day’s development projects, valued at over Rs 13,000 crore, PM Modi highlighted their potential to propel the creation of a New Kashi and drive holistic development across the Purvanchal region. These initiatives, spanning various sectors, are poised to generate employment opportunities and foster socio-economic growth.

The Prime Minister underscored the importance of projects related to Sant Ravidas Ji and congratulated the citizens on their significance.
Reflecting on his recent travel experiences in Varanasi, PM Modi praised the Phulwaria flyover project for its positive impact on transportation and noted the enhanced connectivity from BLW to the airport.

PM Modi also commended the progress in sports infrastructure, including the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range, which are set to benefit aspiring athletes in the region.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to agricultural development, PM Modi recounted his visit to Banas Dairy and interactions with women involved in dairy farming. He applauded the success of initiatives aimed at promoting indigenous cattle breeds, such as the Gir Gai, and shared plans for expanding milk collection and processing facilities to benefit farmers across several districts.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s focus on empowering small farmers and landless laborers through initiatives like Gobar Dhan and enhanced support for animal husbandry.

In his concluding remarks, PM Modi affirmed his commitment to the rapid development of Varanasi and Uttar Pradesh, calling upon residents to unite in this endeavor. He attributed the trust in his leadership to the affection of the people and the blessings of the city’s spiritual legacy.

The event was attended by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brijesh Pathak, Union Minister Shri Mahendra Nath Pandey, and Chairman of Banas Dairy, Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary, among other dignitaries.
