IIT Tirupati Students Will Transform into Wealth Creators, Fulfilling Goal of Viksit Bharat: Dharmendra Pradhan

Tirupati/ New Delhi, 23rd Feb. Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, virtually addressed the 4th and 5th convocation ceremony of IIT Tirupati, extending congratulations to the recipients.
Additionally, he inaugurated the Centre of Excellence (CoE) at IIT Tirupati, developed in collaboration with SIEMENS and Wipro, focusing on “Smart Manufacturing and EV Technologies.”
The CoE features seven laboratories specializing in smart manufacturing, EV manufacturing, smart grid, and more.
During his address, Pradhan emphasized that the institution’s students would evolve into wealth creators and contribute significantly to realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
He commended the institute’s emphasis on innovation and interdisciplinary research, noting that it would serve as a catalyst for socio-economic change, harnessing the energy of Yuva Shakti for global welfare and humanity’s service.
Established in 2015, the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati operates as an autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is designated as an Institute of National Importance by the Indian Parliament.
Supported by its mentoring institute, IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati commenced academic activities in 2015-16, offering B.Tech programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Research programs, including MS and PhD programs, were initiated in 2017, followed by the introduction of a B.Tech program in Chemical Engineering in 2018.
Further expansions include M.Tech programs in Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science disciplines from 2018 and an M.Sc program in Mathematics from 2019.
The most recent addition is the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, launched in 2022, addressing the increasing demand for policy professionals in India.
