Jaipur, 20th Jan. An IAS officer and a fisheries department official were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday for allegedly accepting a bribe, according to officials.
The complainant claimed that he was being subjected to harassment in order to pay a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in exchange for a fishing and transportation license in Annapurna Pond, Tonk.
The accused individuals were identified as Premsukh Vishnoi (IAS), the director of the fisheries department, and Rakesh Dev, the assistant director.
Hemant Priyadarshi, the Acting Director General of the Bureau, stated that the allegations made by the complainant were thoroughly investigated.
On Friday, the ACB arrested Vishnoi and Dev while they were in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 36,000 from the complainant. The accused are currently being interrogated by ACB officials.
