New Delhi, 20th Aug: Home Minister Amit Shah, in a post on X, took aim at the Congress party and the INDIA alliance after a Congress leader made a personal remark about him in Parliament. The leader had commented that Shah did not resign after he was arrested by the previous Congress government.

Amit Shah clarified, “I want to remind Congress that I had resigned before being arrested, and even after being out on bail, I did not hold any constitutional post until I was completely proven innocent by the court.”

He added that the court had dismissed the case as “politically motivated.” Shah also drew a parallel to senior BJP leader L.K. Advani, who resigned from his post on a mere allegation, stating that the BJP and NDA have always stood by ethical values.

The Home Minister further criticized the opposition, accusing them of “double standards.” He pointed out that Rahul Gandhi, who once opposed an ordinance to save Lalu Prasad Yadav, is now seen embracing him.

He also said that the entire INDIA alliance, led by Congress, was opposing the new bills to protect the corrupt, despite knowing they would be sent to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for a detailed discussion. “Today, the opposition has been completely exposed before the public,” he wrote.
