Ahmedabad, 29th Dec: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Sunday said the youth are the driving force behind India’s economic transformation as he addressed the “Yuva Business Maha Sammelan–2025” organised by the Vishwa Umiya Foundation in Ahmedabad.

Addressing nearly 15,000 young participants, Shah highlighted the launch of a new digital application by the Foundation that will enable direct connectivity between youth and clients, mentors, careers, opportunities and the market. He said the initiative will provide young entrepreneurs with networking avenues, business guidance and technological exposure.

Shah praised the Umiya Foundation for fostering devotion towards Maa Umiya and uniting society through culture, education and economic initiatives. He said the Foundation has played a key role in supporting higher education through scholarships, promoting environmental balance through tree plantation drives and strengthening social cohesion within the Patidar community and beyond.

Highlighting India’s economic rise under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah said the country has moved from being the world’s 11th largest economy in 2014 to the fourth largest in 2025, and is on track to become the third largest by 2027. He credited initiatives such as Startup India, Stand Up India and the MUDRA Yojana for empowering youth entrepreneurship.

He said India’s startup ecosystem has expanded from 500 startups in 2014 to over 2.06 lakh today, generating more than 18 lakh permanent jobs and creating 120 unicorn startups.

Calling for a renewed push towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swadeshi, Shah said that by 2047, when India marks 100 years of Independence, the country must strive to lead the world in every field, driven by self-reliance, domestic manufacturing and global competitiveness.
