New Delhi, 2nd Nov: A moment of deep spiritual significance was witnessed at Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib on November 1, as the sacred Jore Sahib — the blessed footwear of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji — was ceremoniously enshrined in the presence of Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri and a large congregation of devotees.

The enshrinement marked the culmination of the nine-day Guru Charan Yatra, during which the revered relics journeyed from Delhi to Patna through Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Escorted by the Panj Pyaras, the procession drew thousands of devotees along its 1,500-km route, uniting communities in devotion and reverence.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri reflected on his family’s historical service to Guru Maharaj, recalling that his ancestors were bestowed with the sacred relics over three centuries ago. Bihar Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan and representatives of various faiths also attended, embodying the spirit of communal harmony and respect.

Ahead of the Yatra, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) undertook scientific verification and conservation of the centuries-old relics. Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA, and Prof. Achal Pandya, Head of its Conservation Division, ensured the artefacts were preserved with authenticity and sanctity.

Now permanently enshrined at the revered birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Jore Sahib stands as a symbol of devotion, service, and the eternal spiritual radiance of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
