New Delhi, 10th Dec: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday paid tribute to the martyrs of the Assam Movement on the occasion of Shahid Diwas, recalling their courage and the enduring impact of their struggle on the state’s history.

In a post shared on X, Shah wrote, “On Swahid Diwas, remembering the sacrifices made by the people of Assam during the Assam Movement. They faced the odds and shaped the history of Assam, creating a peerless example of patriotism. The NDA government led by Modi Ji is ensuring that their aspirations are fulfilled and is leading the state on the path of peace, progress, and growth.”

Shah’s message highlighted the central role of the Assam Movement in shaping the socio-political identity of the state and acknowledged the commitment of those who fought for its cause.

The Home Minister also reaffirmed the NDA government’s continued efforts to meet the region’s aspirations and strengthen peace, development and stability across Assam.
