Poonch, 30th May: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, today met with the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, to personally thank them for their unwavering courage and dedication. Joined by senior officials including the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Shah expressed deep appreciation for the frontline soldiers who guard India’s borders day and night.
Addressing the BSF jawans, Shah said, “The entire nation is proud of you. When threats come knocking, it is you who stand firm as the first line of defence.” He emphasized that thanks to their alertness and bravery, no enemy attack can breach Indian territory. “Your dedication protects millions of lives and homes every day,” he added.
Recalling the recent Operation Sindoor, Shah praised the BSF for their swift and precise response. “When Pakistan attacked, our brave soldiers didn’t just defend — they struck back decisively. Over 118 enemy posts were destroyed, and their surveillance systems dismantled,” he said, highlighting the professionalism and sharp intelligence that guided the operation.
Shah lauded the soldiers deployed across Jammu, Rajasthan, and the distant Kutch border, recognizing their tireless vigilance even during peacetime. “Such courage comes from love for the nation and readiness to sacrifice everything,” he said. The Home Minister noted how the valor of BSF personnel inspires not only the armed forces but also the youngest citizens of India.
Concluding his address, Amit Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that the stories of bravery and sacrifice by BSF jawans are a source of pride and inspiration for every Indian.
