Gwalior, 26th Dec: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Thursday addressed the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior, projecting the state as an emerging growth hub driven by industrial expansion, infrastructure development and balanced regional growth.
Speaking as the chief guest, Shah said the tradition of structured industrial summits was started under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has further strengthened this approach through regional investment summits to ensure balanced development across the state.
He said the PM MITRA Park has once again made cotton a profitable crop for farmers, explaining that the 5F vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign—is ensuring fair prices and global market access for producers. He added that Madhya Pradesh is also witnessing rapid growth in MSMEs, with 4.57 lakh new units set up in just one year, positioning the state as a potential MSME hub.
Shah highlighted that nearly 50 per cent of startups in the state are being run by women, calling it a shining example of women empowerment. He said the state’s geographical location makes it ideal for multi-modal logistics and industrial expansion, adding that a logistics park in Indore is already attracting major companies.
He further pointed to India’s entry into the semiconductor sector, growth in mobile and defence manufacturing, and the country’s expanding digital infrastructure as examples of how India is moving towards self-reliance and global competitiveness.
Paying tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary, Shah described him as a visionary leader who laid the foundations of modern India’s infrastructure, upheld integrity in public life and led the country through decisive moments such as the Kargil conflict.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and several other dignitaries were present at the summit.
