In a post on X, Amit Shah said Chaudhary Charan Singh dedicated his entire life to strengthening the agricultural system, ensuring the welfare of farmers and serving society. He noted that the former Prime Minister courageously placed farmers and agriculture at the centre of governance at a time when rural concerns often remained sidelined.

The Home Minister also recalled Charan Singh’s pivotal role in opposing authoritarianism during the Emergency, stating that he played a meaningful part in overthrowing dictatorial rule and restoring democratic values in the country.

“His contribution to nation-building through farmer empowerment and social service will always be remembered,” Shah said, adding that Charan Singh’s vision continues to inspire policies focused on rural development and agricultural prosperity.
