Historic Milestone in Jharkhand: Foundation stone laid for HPCL’s Gas Network

In a significant development aimed at enhancing energy accessibility and sustainability, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, laid the foundation stone for HPCL’s Gas Network in the Godda-Dumka Geographical Area (GA) for PNG & CNG and inaugurated Indian Oil’s PNG under the City Gas Distribution project in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

The event, graced by Member of Parliament, Loksabha, Shri Nishikant Dubey, marked a pivotal moment in the region’s energy infrastructure expansion.

HPCL’s visionary Gas Network in the Godda-Dumka GA, spanning six districts over 14507 Sq KM, is poised to impact the lives of over 14 lakh households with an impressive investment of Rs. 1750 crore. This monumental project, covering regions such as Godda, Dumka, Poriyahat, Shikaripara, Jarmundi, and more, will provide piped gas connections to households and establish 100 CNG stations, ushering in sustainable transportation solutions.

Meanwhile, in Deoghar, Indian Oil’s PNG project covering three districts over 6264 Sq KM is set to reach out to more than 6 lakh households with an investment of Rs. 303 crore. By 2027, the initiative aims to connect 30,000 families through a 350 km MDPE network, positioning Deoghar as the pioneer district under the Santhal Pargana division to embrace PNG.

The projects hold profound implications, promising to revolutionize lives and catalyze growth across commercial and industrial sectors. Over 30,000 families and 100 Commercial/Industrial institutes in Deoghar will benefit from PNG connections, while Godda-Dumka’s over 2 lakh families and entities will enjoy eco-friendly and reliable fuel supply.

These initiatives prioritize customer experience, delivering time and cost savings with seamless access to cooking fuel directly in kitchens. Moreover, they are poised to generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, igniting socio-economic prosperity across the region.
