New Delhi, 14th Sept. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, extended his best wishes to the nation on the occasion of Hindi Diwas 2024 on Saturday. He highlighted the significance of this day, marking the 75th anniversary of the Constituent Assembly’s decision to adopt Hindi as the official language on September 14, 1949.

In his message, Shah emphasized that Hindi complements all Indian languages and has no competition with them, serving as a unifying force. He recognized the contributions of national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, many of whom hailed from non-Hindi speaking regions, in promoting Hindi.

Shah also noted the work done in the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to promote both Hindi and regional languages. He mentioned that PM Modi has addressed many international forums in Hindi, boosting its global prominence, while the New Education Policy has prioritized mother-tongue education.

Shah further announced the development of a new translation tool, “Kanthasth,” and the upcoming launch of a portal to facilitate translation between Hindi and other Indian languages using Artificial Intelligence.

Calling Hindi a friend to all languages, Shri Shah urged the nation to pledge to strengthen Hindi and regional languages, advancing India’s cultural and linguistic heritage.
