Harishankar Bhabra will be Remembered for Setting High Standards in Public Life: VP Dhankhar

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar conveyed his condolences on the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Harishankar Bhabra.

Former Rajasthan Assembly speaker and long-time BJP leader Hari Shankar Bhabra passed away at a private hospital in Rajasthan on Thursday at the age of 96.

His body was placed at the party office, where party leaders paid their respects by offering flowers.

Governor Kalraj Mishra, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani expressed their condolences for Bhabra’s loss.

Bhabra had served as the assembly speaker from 1990 to 1994 and later as the deputy chief minister from 1994 to 1998.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar said in a X post, “Heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Shri Harishankar Bhabra ji, former Deputy Chief Minister and Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Had called on him at his residence at Jaipur a fortnight ago to enquire about his health.

As Member of the State Legislature during his period, enormously benefited from his wise counsel.

He will be remembered for exemplifying high standards in public life and dignifying the positions held by him including that of Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.

May Almighty bestow eternal peace on the departed soul”.
