New Delhi, 1st Sept: In a landmark educational initiative, the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shikshak Mahasangh (ABRSM) on Monday organized the nationwide campaign “Hamara Vidyalaya – Hamara Swabhiman” across more than five lakh schools. Millions of students and lakhs of teachers took a five-point pledge in unison, affirming their commitment to moral values, inclusive learning, and nation-building.
At a press conference in Delhi, Geeta Bhatt, National General Secretary of ABRSM, said the campaign aims to instill pride, responsibility, and discipline in schools. “Education should not just impart knowledge but also shape character, foster social responsibility, and prepare youth for meaningful contributions to the nation,” she remarked.

The five pledges focused on keeping schools clean and disciplined, treating resources as national wealth, ensuring equality, using education for character building, and viewing schools as sacred spaces for service and values.
Despite heavy rains in several regions, students and teachers enthusiastically participated, with some even taking the pledge in adverse conditions. The campaign also saw participation from private schools and prominent personalities, with multilingual recitations showcasing India’s cultural diversity.
ABRSM termed the drive one of the largest educational movements since independence, urging continued efforts to make schools not just centers of instruction but pillars of values and national pride.
