Chandigarh, 3rd Oct: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria attended the Dussehra festival organized by the New Shri Tirupati Balaji Sansthan in Sector 48 on Thursday evening as the chief guest. He was joined by MP Shri Manish Tiwari, former MP Shri Satya Pal Jain, and former Chandigarh Mayor Shri Davesh Moudgil as special guests.

Welcoming the Governor, Shri Moudgil described Kataria as a true follower of Lord Ram, admired for his honesty, dedication, and simplicity that have won him respect across communities in Chandigarh.

In his address, the Governor urged citizens to walk the path of righteousness and embrace moral values so that the spirit of Dussehra, the triumph of good over evil, reflects in both individual lives and society.

MP Manish Tiwari extended greetings on the occasion, appealing to residents to collectively fight against social evils. Former MP Satya Pal Jain emphasized the importance of spreading Indian traditions and cultural values worldwide. He also lit the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhakarna at Sector 43 during the festivities.

Moudgil added that rediscovering India’s inner strength through faith in traditions will help the nation defeat the “remaining Ravanas” in society. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Haneet Singh, Ajay Kumar Pandey, Jasjyot Singh, Sartaj Singh, Mukesh Kapoor, Nirmal Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Anamika Walia, Rama Matharu, G.K. Giridhar, Dr. Rajesh Mittal, M.K. Garg, and Gyan Singh Thind, along with a large gathering of devotees.
