Kutch, 19th July: A woman police officer in Gujarat’s Kutch district was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, a CRPF constable, on Friday night. The accused, Dileep Dangchia, reportedly walked into the Anjar police station – where the victim was posted – and confessed to the crime on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Arunaben Natubhai Jadav, served as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at Anjar Police Station in Kutch.
According to police, a heated argument allegedly broke out between 25-year-old Arunaben and her partner at their home in Anjar on Friday night. The dispute reportedly escalated when Arunaben made derogatory remarks about Dangchia’s mother. “The argument escalated so much that Dilip strangled Arunaben in anger,” stated Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Anjar Division, Mukesh Chaudhary.
The accused, Dileep Dangchia, is posted in Manipur with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Police confirmed that he had been in a long-term live-in relationship with Arunaben since 2021, after connecting on Instagram, and the couple was planning to get married.
