Gujarat DGP Ashish Bhatia Gets Eight Months Extension in Service

Gandhinagar, 31^st May. The Central government has granted an extension to the service of Gujarat DGP Ashish Bhatia for eight months beyond his date of retirement on May 31, 2022.

Ashish Bhatia (IPS:1985: GJ) was promoted to the post of Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) from the Ahmedabad city police commissioner in July 2020 after incumbent Shivanand Jha superannuated.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for grant of extension in Service of Ashish Bhatia, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP), Gujarat for a period of eight months beyond his date of superannuation on May 31, 2022,” stated a Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions order.
