New Delhi, 17th Sept:Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the United Arab Emirates from 18–19 September 2025 to co-chair the 13th India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments (HLJTFI) with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

The two-day visit will focus on reviewing progress under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Double Taxation Treaty, and Central Bank cooperation. Both sides are expected to identify new investment opportunities in maritime, space, and other high-growth sectors.

Goyal will also co-chair the UAE-India Business Council roundtable with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, engaging CEOs of leading companies to boost bilateral trade and investment.

Key meetings are scheduled with Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE National Security Advisor and IHC Chairman; Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; and Syed Basar Shueb, Managing Director of IHC, among other private sector leaders.

The last HLJTFI in Mumbai in October 2024 ratified the India-UAE Bilateral Investment Treaty signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s February 2024 visit. Established in 2013, the Task Force has been instrumental in promoting trade and resolving investor issues.

The UAE remains one of India’s key strategic partners. Since CEPA came into force in May 2022, bilateral merchandise trade has nearly doubled—from USD 43.3 billion in FY21 to USD 83.7 billion in FY24—driving a shift towards non-oil sectors.
