Goyal Pushes India-Germany Economic Ties in Berlin Talks

Berlin, 24th Oct: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, held a key meeting with German Federal Minister of Economy and Energy,Katherina Reiche, in Berlin on 23 October 2025, building on their previous video conference in August.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, green energy, and skill development.

Goyal also met Dr. Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany’s G7 & G20 Sherpa, to explore ways to deepen the bilateral economic partnership.

The Minister later chaired a roundtable with CEOs of German Mittelstand companies at the Indian Embassy, where business leaders expressed strong interest in expanding investments in India.

Goyal highlighted India’s investment opportunities and government initiatives to enhance ease of doing business, with discussions covering innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.

Goyal is also scheduled to meet Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and hold one-on-one sessions with top German companies including Infineon Technologies, Schaeffler Group, Renk, HerrenknechtAG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes Benz Group. His engagements will continue on 24 October with a panel discussion at the Berlin Global Dialogue and further meetings with German industry associations.
