Governor Anusuiya Uikey Honours “Vijay Mashal” During an Event of “Swarnim Vijay Varsh”

Raipur, 14th Oct. Governor Anusuiya Uikey felicitated the Vijay Mashal at a function organized on the occasion of Swarnim Vijay Varsh on Thursday. On this occasion, the Governor paid homage to the martyrs of the 1971 war and honored the soldiers and their families by giving mementos. The Governor reached among the soldiers and their families and congratulated them and honored them.

She said that we all are feeling proud of the arrival of Vijay Mashal in Chhattisgarh. The zeal and enthusiasm with which this Mashal team is operating, this Vijay Mashal will always prove to be an inspiration for our present and future generations. In this important program, when Vijay Mashal entered the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan with the soldiers, the people present got thrilled and everyone stood in their places and saluted the Mashal.

The Governor said that the Indian Army is one of the great armies of the world, which has led many wars in its history and has achieved successful results. Out of this, there is the 1971 war which started on 03 December 1971 due to the freedom struggle of East Pakistan and after 13 days of struggle, India got a memorable victory on 16 December 1971. In this war, our brave soldiers showed the best of indomitable courage, fighting skills and excellent strategy. About 93000 Pakistani soldiers were taken prisoner of war and about 9000 Pakistani soldiers lost their lives. Our brave soldiers have made a memorable contribution in making this war successful and victorious. Around 2000 soldiers fearlessly laid down their lives for the country and attained immortality. She remembered and congratulated the former Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shekhar Dutt, his participation in the 1971 war and his significant contribution.

Governor Uikey also saluted all the brave women, whose families have made an incomparable contribution in the interest of the country by sacrificing everything to protect the motherland. She said that we all know that the history of the Indian Army has always been glorious and whenever there is any external crisis in the country or any action taken by the enemy countries, our soldiers have given a befitting reply with their high spirits and courage.

The Indian Army is deployed on the fronts with impunity, whether it is the Siachen Glacier melting with snow or the desert scorching like fire, our brave soldiers stand as a wall in their duty as a committed and tough security guard so that the countrymen can rest assuredly.

The Governor said that in order to remember the martyrdom of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi in the 75th year of independence, so that the new generation can know that this freedom was celebrated. Innumerable anonymous martyrs have made sacrifices for this.

Former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, Raipur MP Sunil Soni, General Officer in Commanding, Central India Lt. Gen. S. Mohan, Commander of Chhattisgarh and Orissa Sub Area, Brigadier Prashant Chauhan, N.C.C. Cadets, soldiers and their families were present.
