Panaji, 3rd April.
The Goa Police have taken a significant step forward in the case involving Suchana Seth, the CEO of an AI start-up, accused of the tragic killing of her four-year-old son at an apartment in the coastal state. A senior official confirmed that a chargesheet has been filed against Seth in court.

Seth, aged 39, was apprehended from Chitradurga in neighboring Karnataka on January 7, while she was in transit in a taxi with her son’s body concealed in a bag. The distressing incident unfolded after she allegedly departed Goa on the night of January 6, following the purported killing of her child at an apartment in the Candolim area.

According to reports, the Calangute police have submitted a comprehensive 642-page chargesheet against Seth in the Goa Children’s Court earlier this week. The chargesheet outlines that the child’s demise resulted from shock and respiratory asphyxia induced by strangulation. Seth faces charges under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of office) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.

With 59 witnesses named in the case and the statement of the accused’s husband recorded, who lamented Seth’s alleged non-compliance with court orders from Bengaluru, the legal proceedings are advancing. The Goa Children’s Court is scheduled to convene on June 14, 2024, to frame charges against Seth, who currently remains in judicial custody in Goa.

In a disturbing turn, investigators have attached to the chargesheet a scribbled note reportedly written on tissue paper using an eyeliner by the accused. Handwriting experts have authenticated the note, identifying it as Seth’s handwriting.

The case continues to unravel, shedding light on the complexities and tragic consequences surrounding the circumstances of the young child’s demise.
