New Delhi, 11th Dec. Google’s email service, ‘Gmail,’ was temporarily unavailable beginning at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday. This information was provided by the company. Several people on social media expressed dissatisfaction with the disruption of their Gmail service. However, around 9 p.m. IST, the company’s engineers restored service.
“We are experiencing a problem with Gmail,” according to the Google Dashboard. Users may experience email delivery delays. Our engineering team is working to resolve the issue.
Google informed at 9.45 pm Indian time that emails are now being sent. “However, the Google engineering team is still working on the backlog of blocked messages and expects all messages to be delivered within the next few hours,” the dashboard said.
Users in India reported undelivered emails and an unresponsive Gmail app. Gmail’s business services are also currently impacted. Gmail, which has more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, was one of the top downloaded apps in 2022. Downdetector continued to show the email service as down several hours after it was first reported. This unprecedented outage has impacted both the app and desktop services.
As users struggled to send important emails, the hashtag #GmailDown trended on Twitter and other social media platforms.
According to some of the comments on Downdetector, users received a message indicating that there may be delays in receiving and sending emails. Many users complained about not receiving emails from their accounts.
