Pune, 6th Jan.
Gangster Sharad Mohol was killed in Pune on Friday by members of his own gang, according to the police.

Eight suspects were arrested in a vehicle on Pune-Satara road, and three pistols, three magazines, and five rounds were confiscated from them.

The incident occurred around 1:30 pm in the Sutardara area of Kothrud, where three to four attackers shot Mohol at close range. He was hit in the chest and right shoulder and later died at a private hospital in Kothrud.

Mohol had multiple cases, including murder and dacoity, registered against him. He was also accused in the murder case of suspected Indian Mujahideen operative Mohammad Qateel Siddiqui, but was acquitted.

The police suspect that a dispute over land and money within his gang led to his killing.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that it was not a gang war, as Mohol was killed by his own associates. Nine teams have been formed to investigate the incident.
