Former Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Das Gupta has once again been nominated to the Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, 1st June. Former Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Das Gupta has once again been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Das Gupta had resigned as a Rajya Sabha MP in March to contest the Bengal elections on behalf of the BJP.

However, his term as a Rajya Sabha MP was also set to end soon. According to an official notification, Swapan Das Gupta has been re-nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (A) of clause (1) of Article 80 of the Constitution of India, read with clause (3) of the article, President Swapan Dasgupta is re-nominated, the Notification issued in the Gazette said. 24.02.2022, he nominates to fill the seat vacated due to his resignation.
