Gwalior, 21st Aug. Three former IAS officers joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state working committee meeting in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
Home Minister Amit Shah inducted retired IAS officers Ved Prakash, RK Mishra, and MK Agrawal into the BJP on Sunday evening at the Atal Auditorium of Jiwaji University in Gwalior.
Ved Prakash, Former Corporation Commissioner of Gwalior, Jabalpur and Collector of Chhindwara, Narsinghpur; RK Mishra, former collector of Panna, and MP Aggarwal, former collector of Khandwa, Morena, and Dewas, have joined the BJP.
During this, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and Jabalpur MP Rakesh Singh presented them with BJP’s saffron stole.
After joining the BJP, retired IAS RK Mishra stated that his primary motivation for doing so is serving the public. He previously served as an administrative officer and will continue his public service in this new capacity.
RK Mishra responded to a question of joining the BJP by saying that the BJP is the party that talks about national interests and does everything it says. This is what compelled him to join the BJP. On the topic of contesting the elections, he stated that he has no plans to do so and will only serve the country.
Notably, no word about the officers joining the BJP was made public prior to the event.
Earlier, Amit Shah visited Bhopal and released the “report card” of the Madhya Pradesh government. This is his fourth trip to the state in just two months.
The home minister presented the Shivraj administration’s 20-year report card (2003-2023), claiming that the BJP government tried to transform the country from a ‘sick state’ (bimaru rajya) to the most developed state.
