For the second day in a row, the NIA conducts raids in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terror funding case

Srinagar, 16th June. On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in Jammu and Kashmir for the second day in a row in a major anti-terror operation. Raids were carried out in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Baramulla, according to reports. The NIA raids included members of the Baramulla Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). According to reports, the raids are taking place in different parts of North Kashmir at the same time.
During the raids, officials seized a few electronic devices as well as documents. According to sources, as part of the crackdown on terror in North Kashmir, a few locations in Srinagar are also being raised.
NIA raids were carried out earlier in the day on Wednesday. On Wednesday, a salesman’s home was raided for allegedly being involved in cross-border smuggling. A second raid was carried out at the home of a drug dealer, but no drugs were found.
In May, the NIA arrested an ISIS terrorist suspect in Mayiladuthurai. On May 26, the suspect, A Mohammed Ashiq (25), was apprehended in Needur, near Mayiladuthurai. The NIA claimed that he had allegedly sworn allegiance to ISIS in 2018 and was wanted for a criminal conspiracy aimed at a few leaders in Coimbatore, according to sources.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches in six locations across Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. In the case of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a search operation was carried out across the state.
According to the ANI, four of the six locations searched by the NIA were in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and one each in Katihar, Bihar, and Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
During searches, the NIA allegedly seized digital devices such as cell phones, SIM cards, and memory cards, as well as bank account information, incriminating documents, and Jihadi literature.
Six active cadres of the proscribed organization JMB, including three illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, were arrested from a house in Bhopal in this case.
