New Delhi, 30th Jan: Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman will interact with youth from across India after the presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27, as part of a special initiative to deepen young citizens’ engagement with India’s financial and Parliamentary processes.

Around 30 college students from different regions of the country will witness the live presentation of the Union Budget from the Lok Sabha Gallery on February 1, 2026. The students, drawn from academic streams including commerce, economics, medical education and vocational courses, will get a first-hand experience of one of the most important Parliamentary events of the year.

As part of the programme, the students will also visit the Ministry of Finance at Kartavya Bhawan-1, where they will interact with senior officials to understand the functioning of the Ministry, policy formulation processes and the role of institutions in nation-building.

Later in the evening, Sitharaman will engage with the students in an interactive session, discussing key priorities of the Budget, its long-term vision for India’s future and its implications for the youth. Students will also share their ideas, perspectives and aspirations, offering inputs on issues concerning the nation and the role of young people in shaping India’s growth.

The initiative aims to promote greater awareness among students about finance, economics, governance and democratic processes, while encouraging informed and constructive participation of youth in India’s democratic and financial systems.
