Hyderabad, 6th May: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Monday announced the resumption of the morning flight service between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, which is set to commence from June 1, 2025. The restored air route is expected to bolster regional connectivity and facilitate economic integration within Andhra Pradesh.
Operated by IndiGo Airlines, the revised morning schedule will see flights depart from Vijayawada at 7:15 AM, reaching Visakhapatnam by 8:25 AM. The return leg will depart Visakhapatnam at 8:45 AM, arriving in Vijayawada at 9:50 AM.
Emphasizing the importance of the route, Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated, “Regional connectivity is a cornerstone of our vision for inclusive growth and ease of travel. The reinstatement of this crucial flight link between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam will significantly benefit passengers, boost economic engagement between the two cities, and support the broader development goals of Andhra Pradesh.”
The move is part of the Centre’s ongoing push to improve air connectivity across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme and other regional development initiatives. The service is expected to benefit business travelers, tourists, and professionals commuting between Andhra Pradesh’s capital and its financial hub.
