Nagpur, 14th Dec: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his deputy Eknath Shinde and several legislators from the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena on Sunday visited the memorial of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur.

The visit took place at the Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh, where Fadnavis and Shinde also paid tributes to the second RSS Sarsanghchalak, M. S. Golwalkar. Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Legislative Council Chairperson Ram Shinde and other BJP and Shiv Sena legislators were present.

However, legislators from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who are part of the ruling Mahayuti coalition, did not attend the visit.

This is not the first time that NCP leaders have skipped the event. During last year’s winter session as well, BJP and Shiv Sena legislators, including Fadnavis and Shinde, had visited the Smruti Mandir, while Ajit Pawar stayed away.

The winter session of the Maharashtra legislature is currently underway in Nagpur.
