Fadnavis Orders Probe into ₹300-Cr Land Deal Linked to Ajit Pawar’s Son

Mumbai, 6th Nov: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in a Pune land deal involving Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The controversy surrounds a property deal estimated at ₹300 crore for land reportedly valued at ₹1,804 crore, sparking strong political backlash across the state.
The Chief Minister assured that the state government would not tolerate any corruption and promised stern action if wrongdoing is found.
“If there are any irregularities, action will definitely be taken against them. Our coalition government believes in transparency, so this matter will be investigated thoroughly,” Fadnavis said.
He confirmed that additional information has been sought from the Revenue and Land Records departments, adding that an official stance will be taken once the probe report is received.
“The issues that have come to light prima facie are very serious,” he added, indicating the gravity of the situation.
The Land Deal Controversy
The deal involves Amedia Holdings LLP, owned by Parth Pawar, which allegedly purchased a 40-acre land parcel in Pune for ₹300 crore—far below its market value of ₹1,804 crore. The firm reportedly paid only ₹500 in stamp duty after securing a waiver just two days after the transaction.
The land in question is identified as Mahar Watan property, which cannot legally be sold without government approval under the Bombay Inferior Village Watans Abolition Act, 1958.
Social activist Anjali Damania has called it an “office of profit” case and demanded Ajit Pawar’s resignation.
Political Reactions
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve accused the Pawars of misusing power for personal gain, questioning how a company with a capital of ₹1 lakh could acquire and develop prime Koregaon Park land.
“This entire transaction happened in 27 days, and the stamp duty for 40-acre land is just ₹500! Taking the names of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar while grabbing Mahar Watan land — this is Ajit Dada’s progressive Maharashtra,” Danve said.
Congress leader Vijay Waddettiwar has demanded that a criminal case be filed and the land restored to its rightful owners.
Meanwhile, NCP state president and MP Sunil Tatkare stated he would comment only after obtaining full details.
Fadnavis reiterated that the investigation would be impartial and action-oriented, asserting that “no one is above the law.”
